Everytime I get a date it seems like that there is no follow up from my date

Hello Dr.Dating:

Everytime I get a date it seems like that there is no follow up from my date. I'm not a bad looking guy. It seems like I must be just serving as a fill in or something. Other times I feel like I have a promising date or love interest, but it falls or ends with no reason to me. Please advise!

Confused in Ohio
Robert

Dear Robert; I imagine it is confusing. Looks don't have much to do with it. Looks don't go unnoticed by women, but they'll look for you to bring something else to the table besides that. My guess is that you're acting as a nice guy looking to be friends with a woman and that's what you're getting. A woman does want a nice guy, but she wants a nice guy she can imagine as a lover.

Don't act like her girlfriend. Don't solve her problems. Don't give her advice. Don't feed her cat when she goes away for a weekend. Act like a guy who's looking for a relationship. Determine what it is you're looking for in a girlfriend, and approach women you think have those qualities. If they do, make it clear you're interested in a relationship not a friendship. If they don't have the core qualities you're looking for, move on.

That doesn't mean you have to act rude, or cocky. It does mean not acting as if they're doing you a favor. Don't hold back who you are or what you require. You have a right to have someone in your life, but you have to assert that right in order to attract someone who meets your need.
