How can I get myself out of this funk?
My boyfriend told me about the women in his past and recently at an office function, one of his old girlfriends was there. He told me about her, but he didn't tell me how drop dead gorgeous she was. I saw and I wonder why he broke up with her and why he's with me! I've been feeling a little self-conscious ever since. How can I get myself out of this funk?
By being grateful your boyfriend is with you and is not so shallow as to stay with a woman who makes him unhappy just because she's beautiful. Or you could think that he has a habit of selecting beautiful women, so that must mean you're hot yourself.
Since you already knew about her, you know why they aren't together any more. Unless she was flirting with him, or unless he was following her around and left you on your own at this office function, you will have to give the woman the compliment of being beautiful, and give yourself a break. After all, you have him, and that's something her beauty couldn't retain.
