I am 18 years old and in college. I didn't date all that much while I was in high school - just some group things. Now that I am about to start dating 'for real' is there one good piece of dating advice you can give me?
There are many pieces of advice that go into making dating fun and successful. If I were to make a list, I can tell you the thing that would go on top of the list:
Be realistic
Romance is real. Love can make you feel goofy. Those first experiences can make you forget to eat - but relationships don't appear out of the mist. They are real and require you to be present in them. They are opportunities for you to be involved with someone on a level that is different than any other partnership you make and the way you act in them is how you train other people to treat you. You have choices - always. You have ownership - always. You own your own space - always. If you remember that, you will be able to enjoy all the wondefulness that comes with relationships.
