5 Ways to Win Dates Through Your Blog

With the popularity of communities such as LiveJournal and MySpace, it's becoming obvious that people can tap into the power of blogs to increase their dating chances.

1. Be interesting.
No one's going to come to your blog if you sound like everybody else. You need to be unique and fascinating enough for people to tell others about your blog. But don't get too obsessed about sounding different - you might look as if you're trying too hard. Just be yourself and focus on the skills, insights, hobbies, and interests that make you different.

2. Be approachable.
It's not really the looks that makes people truly attractive - it's the personality. Even the smallest amount of charm can turn that frog into a prince. Be friendly to people who comment on your blog. Reply to their posts and let them know that they are being heard. This will at least increase your circle of friends, and if you won't get a date via your "blog fans" directly, they might have some friends who could be of interest to you.

3. Mention that you want to go out into the dating world.
Although a blatant post entitled "I Need A Date" could work, you might sound a little bit desperate. Instead, casually mention your daily routine or the things you'd like to share with a "special someone". You can say that everything in your life is going well - if only you had someone to share it with! It might also help to mention from time to time the qualities that you are looking for in a date. Think of your blog as a long-running, but subtle, personal ad.

4. Promote your blog in the right circles.
If you already have an idea of what type of people you'd like to date, think about where you'll find them on the internet, and start doing a bit of promotion there. For example, if you're looking for a sporty gal, you might want to look in online sports forums. Join some of these forums and add your blog to your signature. Some interesting girl is bound to click it and get in touch with you!

5. Show both your tough side and your soft side.
Since a blog contains a lot of content, it helps to show different facets of your personality. It keeps things interesting. Write down a funny entry, a serious entry, a deep, thoughtful entry - keep your blog posts varied. This shows that you are a well-rounded individual that can keep conversations going - no matter what the mood.

If you apply these techniques into your own blog, don't be surprised if you get more dates than you expected. You're definitely going to meet a lot of interesting people online, and who knows, you might even meet "The One"!
