Casual Dating for the Gay

Many gay individuals get stuck in the trap of going from one serious relationship to another. Unfortunately, this is something that a lot of people, gay or straight, struggle with. It can be hard to stay out of relationships when you like to spend time with other people, especially if you like to have physical or intimate relationships. The thing is, if you arent willing to commit or you arent in a place in your life where you are ready to deal with a serious relationship, you shouldnt do it! More and more people are finding that casual dating fulfills their needs socially, physically, and mentally and simply fits into their life a lot better.
If you have been going in and out of relationships for some time and you are ready to stop the cycle, consider slowing down and spend some time dating a few different people casually. It doesnt mean that you cant like them a lot, have sexual relations with them, or get to know them well. It just means that you dont take the interactions to the next level where you are committed or feel like you owe the person anymore than mutual respect. Casual dating is alive and well in the gay community and if this sounds like something that you would be interested in doing, why wouldnt you?
Dating should be fun and the extent of your relationships should be based on what you can handle emotionally and what you have time for after all of your responsibilities are taken care of. If you dont have the time or the emotional energy to be involved in a very serious relationship you can find a lot of other gay people out there that are in the same place in their life, but still have needs, just like you. Casual dating keeps things fun, but fulfills the need to have people in your life.
If you dont know anyone off hand that wants to date casually, you probably wont have to look very far. Check out all the singles at your favorite gay or lesbian hangouts and you are sure to come across someone that wants interaction and to share things without all of the seriousness. The Internet is, of course, a great place to find other gay individuals that are interested in casual dating of all sorts so why not look around and meet someone that needs the same things right now as you? Your relationship needs change throughout life and sometimes we all need to keep things casual.
