He is a little wary at what the world will say. By DrDating

I am a gay man and I want to get involved with someone who is just coming out. He is a little wary at what the world will say. I have always been forthright about who I am and I have told him we will go through the same problems that any couple will go through and we should just get on with our lives. I am trying to convince him that dating is dating is dating, but I haven't had much success. Is there any advice you can give to help me help him?

He is the one who needs the help. This is someone who is just coming out and you want him to act as if there's nothing to worry about.
The very fact that gay people have to come out says that your dating is dating is dating theory isn't true. Straight people don't have to come out - unless they've been "accused" of being gay. Hetero couples of the same race or religion don't go through what interracial or interreligious couples may have to face. Two people who's ages are far apart encounter resistance that a couple who are closer in age don't encounter.
I suspect your forthrightness has been more of a defense mechanism to fend off the criticism. Give your new love a break and understand people don't react the same way. He needs to go slowly and you can help him with that or hinder it by being too pushy.
