Seniors Falling in Love

Many people don't picture themselves dating and falling in love when they are older, but it is happening more and more. Whether they have been single their whole lives, married and now divorced, or widowed many seniors are giving themselves permission to go out and date, and yes, even fall in love! It is fascinating to watch older individuals date and fall in love because despite their age you watch the whole range of emotions develop between two people. Many seniors find that they have a better outlook on life, their health improves, and they are happier when they are in love because they have someone to share their life with.

Seniors out dating is common place these days, where 10 or 20 years ago many people would stay single once a spouse died or even after divorce. Today, it is perfectly acceptable and even encouraged that after a grieving period or time of adjustment that people get back out there and start socializing again. Many times seniors make friends with other singles and slowly it turns into a romantic relationship. Dating can be difficult for a lot of seniors because it has been so long since they have done so, so it is not at all uncommon for them to become friends first.

Falling in love as a senior can be very rewarding. Generally seniors are much more aware of themselves and who they are, and even what they want from life so they can bring a lot more to a relationship than they could have 10, 20 or even 30 years ago. While they may not be as young as they were when they dated in the past, they are more able to love and be loved now that they really know who they are.

Senior relationships are often very meaningful and many fall in love without intending to. Many seniors feel as though they aren't capable of dating romantically and falling in love, but before they know it they are head over heals and that is fantastic! Many experts believe that people are living longer because they are making great choices for themselves not only with food and medicine, but also with the way they choose to live, and that includes being in loving relationships. Seniors that are falling in love and living the life they want to live are a great role model for us all.
