Get down on that knee, girl! I think it's perfectly fine. It's even more fine since it's something you've talked about and he stayed with you after you refused his offer. I think it would be an appropriate gesture to let him know you are now so complete within yourself, that you couldn't be complete without him. I would even buy him a nice ring to go along with popping the question!
