I think he likes me though I'm 16

I'm totally in love with my art teacher. I know he's 14 years older than me, but that doesn't mean anything. I think he likes me though I'm 16. He tells me how much talent I have an he has offered to help me if I want to pursue art as a career. He smiles at me and is very nice. I don't how I should handle this. I'm sure he likes me.

Coaches and certain teachers - like art teachers, are easy to fall in love with because they're not the usual English, math or history guys. I'm sure he likes you, too. But I'm also sure he's not in love with you. Nor do I think you're in love with him. It's not unusual for us to find ourselves "in love" with our teachers. I know I was and because I was into sports, the tennis coach was the love of my life when I was your age. He spent a great deal of time with me and helped me with my ground strokes, but that's the closest he ever came to showing me affection.. Luckily, he's still a friend today because I outgrew what I thought was love then and it has been replaced with a love now - a love of friends.
Be thankful you have a teacher who shows an academic interest in you and take advantage of what he is offering, but understand it's probably nothing more than a good teacher helping a good student.
