Should I continue with the kissing and hugging if he won't call me his girlfriend?

I've known this boy since grade school and now we're both juniors in high school. We started out just as friends but some time during the last year, we started kissing and hugging. I told him I would like for us to be more than friends and he says he doesn't want girlfriend right now because he doesn't want that kind of pressure. I backed off from the kissing and hugging and he acted hurt by it. I gave in again and when I asked him if he changed his mind about having a girlfriend, he said no. Is he being disrespectful? Should I continue with the kissing and hugging if he won't call me his girlfriend?

It depends on if the title means something to you. If you think the kissing and hugging should be something only a girlfriend would do, then I would say you need to put a stop to it because he wants the benefits without the job. You have a right to say your actions are to shared with someone who has the same level of commitment as you. on the other hand, if you're enjoying yourself and your feelings, integrity and self-esteem are not being crushed by you or him, then hug on!
