Do Online Personality Tests Help You Find Love? Maybe They Can!

Finding love on your own takes time, effort, and really getting to know someone before you know whether you hit it off or not. However, many of the dating websites are marketing themselves as matchmakers by ranking individuals likelihood of hitting it off based on personality tests taken as part of the membership process. Could this possibly work? Well, the answer is yes! Of course, personality tests are not 100% accurate and won't be the sole determination of whether you find a love match or not. However, they can be very helpful in seeing if potential dates mesh with you or not.
For example, if you have a 60% or higher compatibility ranking with an individual you can pretty much rest assured that there are many similarities between you and the other individual. As that ranking begins to fall the similarities will with it. This does not mean you might not like the other individual, go on dates, or even have fun. However, it does mean that for a long term relationship you will probably be more successful with individuals that have high compatibility rankings with you.
There are some flaws however in this process. For example, if some people don't take the personality test seriously or you don't then the results will be skewed. As a result, you should consider compatibility ranking scores when deciding on whether to communicate with another dating website member however it should not be your only reasoning.
Another point to consider is how do you know what the personality tests are ranking and what they are not? The website might assure you the test will find your true love for you, but you really have no idea how the test is measuring your results against the results of others. And, while most likely the tests do help you eliminate some individuals that are definitely not matches they are just as likely to help you nail down some that are as well. Of course, without the tests you will still find dates as well. So, when you are looking for a date online and someone's compatibility score with you is low don't just pass them over because they still could be the one.
