Communicating in Relationships: The One You LoveBy DrDating
Maybe it's not worth it and just simply a waste of your time. We're speaking of love and many people spend countless hours looking for love. There are a lot of cynical folks out there that we listen to that do have a bearing on how we shape our expectations of what it is like when we are looking for love or even after we find it. If you find your love in the laundry-mat or have sought out profiles of someone with an online dating service with just that perfect chemistry you will encounter many naysayers of love. It isn't just the people that have been in relationships for several years and the shiny has worn off, or the people that had bad relationships that tore them apart some of the naysayers of love have never went on their first date yet. People, in general, will just give you the worst predictions. They may not have even experienced love but they have lots to say about it. 'I give it two years,' 'give them time, they'll have annoying habits you won’t like,' 'when the magic wears off.' You know what I'm talking about, you have heard all that and more but the biggest dire prediction is the one about how much work a relationship is. You know that anything worth having is going to be work, that is just a given in any circumstance. If you honestly listen to these predictions, you wouldn't be looking for love; you'd be running like the wind in the other direction. If you wait till after you have found what you think is your love and then you let these dire little sayings seep in you could be in trouble. You'd constantly be sitting waiting for the work to begin or the honeymoon to be over and maybe ruin what might be a great relationship. Here is the true fact; you put in your work by finding that great person you may want to spend the rest of your life with. This person may not be perfect but you're not either. There will be some annoying habits you may have to look over just like they will probably have to take some of your habits in stride. There won’t be any real issues between the two of you as long as you both keep the lines of communication open between you. Other tips to keeping your relationship fresh and all the side issues out of the way is to not listen to others that bash the opposite sex or thinking of the stereotypes you see on the sitcoms as real life situations. Don’t think that your significant other is from another world. Remember this is the person you love so try to listen to them to come up with answers to any problems before they escalate. Maintaining a great relationship is easy; not hard work at all if you keep communicating with one another. It is simple to work out any issue if you work together like a team or well-oiled machine.
