Do you think we ought to lie and say we met somewhere else?

I met by boyfriend, Kevin, at a funeral. It was for the aunt of a friend of mine whom I dearly loved and Kevin was a friend of her cousin who had come for the service. we hit it off right away and have been dating for the past five weeks. When people ask us how we met, some have said it was disgusting while others have labeled it freaky. Do you think we ought to lie and say we met somewhere else?
Luna

Dear Luna,
No. People meet under many circumstances. You can tell them you think her aunt, with whom you were close, set you up and you're happy that something wonderful came out of paying respects to someone you loved. If that doesn't work, just ignore them.
