How come women say they want communication and then balk when they get it?

I thought one of the things women wanted was for us to tell them what is on our minds. I do believe in communication and expressing my needs. I talked to my girlfriend about how she dresses. I would like for to dress more sexy and feminine. She wears suits and business wear at work and when she comes home, she jumps right into jeans. I have told her it would make me feel better if she would dress in something that showed off her body. She works hard to keep it in shape and then hides it under baggy clothes. I have told her that friends of mine have said that's one reason why they have cheated on their girlfriends because they don't make themselves appealing to them. She said she dresses the way she wants and if I don't like how she dresses, I shouldn't consider cheating; I should consider a new girlfriend. I don't want a new girlfriend; I just want this one to dress better. How come women say they want communication; and then balk when they get it?
Maybe she works out to be healthy and everything else would be a perk or benefit. Look, she's a grown ass woman and she gets to dress the way she wants. Is it a fair ask that she dress in a certain way to make you happy? Yes.
Is it fair that you express that need/desire? Yes.
Should she consider it to the point of working out a plan that makes both of you happy? Yes.
Should you act like a bully and threaten to cheat? No.
Either leave the relationship or not, but don't throw the possibility of other women in her face. If you had done that to me I would have made sure the next time you came home I was dressed in the sexiest outfit I had while handing you your suitcase.
You've made your request (very badly) and she said no to it, probably because of they way you asked. It will be difficult for you to go back now and make this right without apologizing for being a bully and for threatening to go out and find other women. This seems a rather small issue to place such a big circumstance upon it and you've given her reason to think over what your relationship means if you've brought it down to how she looks in her own home.
But, if you cannot let it go and you are willing to risk the consequences, go back with the apology and ask if it's possible that just one night a week she wear an outfit of your choosing that the two of you will go shop for together and that you will pay for. If she says yes, consider yourself lucky. If she says no, you will have to decide if this is an important enough issue for you to leave.
