I would like to symbolize our relationship with something other than an engagement ring

I am in my mid-thirties and so is the woman Im involved with. We both love each other and weve both been married before and weve both discovered marriage doesnt suit us. However, we do know we want to be together and I would like to symbolize our relationship with something other than an engagement ring. Can you suggest something?

Hank

Dear Hank

A locket would probably be nice and she can get you a ring that doesn't look like a wedding band. May I offer another suggestion? I know you don't want that little piece of paper, but I suggest you do get one - a Power of Attorney for Healthcare and/or Finances. You may believe you are mates without the legalities, but hospitals won't recognize it unless you're married. You want to make sure you and your partner have that all worked out.
