If I started seeing someone, would this be considered cheating ?

I have a boyfriend, but it's obvious - at least to me - that he isn't the love of my life. We never really made a pact to date just each other, but he knows I haven't been seeing anyone. I would like to start seeing some other people. If I started seeing someone, would this be considered cheating.

Dear Harriet
It may not be cheating, but it certainly seems dishonest, and you know it because you don't "really" have a pact but you don't seem willing to tell him the truth. Since you don't have that agreement (are you sure about that?) then tell him you want to see other folks either he'll accept it or he won't and either way you can start seeing other people - you just might not see him anymore; but since he's not the love of your life, it should be fine.

I don't know what to do with myself I'm can't put into words how disapointed I am I'm more welcome in his family than he is in mine. I'm not sure it's the right thing to do with this hanging over our heads. I really like my friends, but this is my boyfriend, what should I do? Is an affair ever ok? Is scheduling sex a good thing?
