Search Term - personal relationships
Man is a social animal. We all need personal relationships in order to ensure our survival. You may think that having a couple of friends is good enough, but by having different kinds of relationships, you ensure your own mental and emotional health as well as your success. Here is a list of personal relationships that are needed by the common man:
Parental relationships. Let's face it - we all need authority figures. Whether they're dishing out advice or scolding us for our mistakes, we need parental figures. They don't even have to be our actual parents, they just have to be older and wiser and worth our respect. Without a personal relationship with someone we look up to, we'd be lost during our most stressful moments.
Relationship with a significant other. This is probably the most common of all personal relationships. The search for an ideal romantic relationship is the center of millions of TV shows, books, and movies - and for good reason. Your significant other brings the extra amount of inspiration and motivation you need for everyday living, especially if you're going through a rough time.
Siblings. Your siblings are very special because they grow old with you. The more siblings you have, the more personalities you have to deal with. What you learn form dealing with your siblings teaches you a lot about the intricacies of personal relationships.
Best friend. The best thing about your best friend is that you know he has your back - always. Lovers come and go, but your best friend will always be there to support you and be on your side. Some lovers can be your best friends as well, but nothing beats the support of a platonic friend. After all, if only your lover is your best friend, who will you run to when you have relationship problems with your lover? Your best friend's perspective, support, and advice guarantees that your other personal relationships will remain intact.
