Behind the Body Language By Tim Blackstock
Flirting is a very important part of getting into the whole dating scene. Without it, no one would know whether or not you were even interested. The most important aspect of flirting is not in what you say, but rather what you do. The body language that you use is the biggest signal that you can send out.
One of the most important things is to keep your body loose and open. If you were to be tense and, for instance, have your arms and legs crossed, someone will see this as you not being interested or closed up within yourself and they will likely not approach you. Let your arms hang loose and move them as you talk. Sit up straight, but not rigidly. And make sure that you make eye contact.
The eyes are another important part. A well known adage calls the eyes the window to the soul. Use this to your advantage. Look into a prospective partners eyes and let them know that you are interested. After you have established contact, you can use your eyes to flirt further by batting your eyelashes or looking shyly at the ground.
Touch is also an important component to flirting. Putting your hand on someones knee or shoulder while talking to them gives them a sense that your attention is on them and them alone. This is very important when flirting. You do not want the other persons eyes to be wandering the room in search of someone else. Draw their focus to you.
One must remember that there are no real rules to flirting and body language. You should do whatever you feel the most comfortable with. These are just a few general things that will help you along the way. Just remember, flirting is the first line of offense the leads to many dating experiences.
