About ShynessYou Can Overcome Your Fears!

Being shy isnt something that most people choose, they just are. For whatever reason, some of us are just more social than others. Some experts believe that our personality will be well formed before we take our first breath, meaning we may be shy before birth. Others suggest that the way we are socialized as an infant will determine how shy or outgoing we will be as children and young adults. Whatever the reason, a good portion of our population deals with shyness.

Like most things, shyness varies from person to person. Some people only become shy in certain situations, while others are always a bit timid except with close family members. For the vast majority of people there is probably a specific situation that makes them a bit more shy than usual, and this is normal. Its completely ordinary to fee a bit shy before you get up in front of a room full of people to make a presentation, or even before you meet all of your new co-workers on your first day at a new job. Shyness comes in all forms, but for some people it is a painful state of being. No one can really pin down when this type of shyness begins, but there are some things that you can do to help keep the shyness from determining how much you enjoy life.

Many people that are shy come off as weird or strange when really they just dont know what to say or how to behave in some situations. The best thing that a shy person can do is try to slowly expose themselves to the situations that make them even more shy than usual. If its people that make one shy, going out and trying to interact a bit at a shopping mall is a great first step because you can interact by buying a coke or a snack without making a fool of yourself! And, if you do make a fool of yourself youll never see the person again!

Shyness and dating seem to go hand in hand. For most people, you simply have to go out there and start dating. Experience is the only thing that will really cure shyness in dating. Try to pick places for first dates that wont put all the focus or attention on you or your interaction such as dinner at a busy restaurant, a night at the movies, or coffee in a popular caf. The things going on around you will help distract some of the attention so that you dont feel so shy and before you know it youll be interacting like a true pro.

Shyness is something that we all have to deal with from time to time, but for the majority of people it is something we can work through. Dating is a situation where most people feel a bit shy or at least a bit of anxiety, but as you get to know your date the shyness should subside. If you continue to feel shy you should think about changing where you date or how soon you accept dates with people. Getting over shyness is usually about doing things on your time table, or in an environment in which you feel comfortable.
