I met this woman on an online dating service. I liked her profile and her picture and we set up a date at a local coffee shop. During the conversation, she said she had met several people via the site and it was well worth the money. She said she even met a few guys where the relationship could be considered serious. I half jokingly asked if she had gotten herself tested for STD's. She said she hadn't and wouldn't because she didn't want to know the bad news.
Doc, she's someone I want to see again and I could see myself getting intimate with her. I would not have thought to ask the question had she not dropped the hints about her sexual activity. Now, I would like to know if she's tested? How can I get her to the doctor for a test?

Dear Quincy,
You can't; it's not your body or your decision, but you can make a decision that does affect your body. Tell her you simply cannot move your relationship to another level unless you know she has been tested and cleared. Ignorance isn't bliss - it's simply ignorance and someone willing to risk your life for sex isn't anyone anyone else needs to be around.
