I don't want to play dumb in order to get a man but I don't know what else to do.

I'm having trouble finding men to date. It's not that they aren't around, it's that they run away from my intelligence. For some reason, they seem intimidated because I have brains. I could understand it if I were a doctor or physicist, but I'm just a girl going to grad school for a degree in accounting. I don't want to play dumb in order to get a man but I don't know what else to do.

Dear Serena,
You can hang out at those places where the smarter men go, but I'm wondering how come your intelligence is so overwhelming. It's not entirely true that men don't want a woman who's intelligence just as it isn't true that women just want a man with money; there are plenty of women married to wonderful men with average incomes, and men who appreciate women with above average intelligence. What men (or women) dislike is someone who pushes their intelligence in their face. Take a step back and make sure you aren't presenting your brain without the rest of you. If you are, you might have to make the adjustment of not acting dumber but behaving smarter. If not, then you're looking at the wrong men and need to make smarter choices of men to see.
