I want to know how to overcome my shyness

Ill be starting high school next year and I want to know how to overcome my shyness. In grade school, the classes were smaller and so was the building so people got to know each other without really trying. My high school is about four times as big and the kids are from all around my town and the neighboring towns so it wont be as easy. Any suggestions? I dont want to be considered too aloof to talk to especially since there will be more guys there.

Mona

Dear Mona

You can keep close to some of your friends from your previous school. No doubt some of them will be more outgoing than you. They can help you meet new people just by being around them.

You can try and speak to one person you don't know in each class and setting. There will also be folks who will seek you out. Be open to who they are and you might gain friends that way.

Above all, have relax and have fun. It will be easier on you and those around you if you try not to worry about it too much.
