Things you Can't Say to a Single Person

If you're browsing around the web checking out the latest and greatest dating advice articles, then you've probably already seen plenty of advice dealing with things you shouldn't say to a guy or girl. But how about we get more specific here and talk about things you should never say to a single person.

Maybe you've already found the right person through online dating, and maybe you'll recognize some of these things as unwanted cliched words of wisdom your friends and family pile on you as dating advice. Either way, check out a few things no one should ever tell a single person.

Plenty of Fish
If you're giving dating advice to someone, you should always avoid cliches, but this one especially! Telling someone there are plenty of fish in the sea is like telling them they should already be in a relationship due to the quantity out there. In short, it makes someone feel as if it's their fault they're single!

You'll find the Right One
Whether guy or girl, this one just sounds too condescending to even stomach-as if there's something wrong with the way you're doing things. Even if that's the case, this is not how to phrase it to someone.

I Envy You
Some people's idea of sound dating advice is to drop the 'I wish I was single' line on you, as if pandering to your predicament is even logical. For one, it's very easy for them to be single again. Just do it! It's the finding true love that's the difficult part.

It will Happen
Yeah-when!? When I least expect it, next month, a year from now-when? There's no good answer to this unless you're Miss Cleo so, please, refrain from using this line, no matter which adverb you're throwing on the end.
